Pillsbury College Prep boarding school activities provide experienced instructors in athletics, the arts, and adventures to further add to the growth of each individual student. We offer after school and weekend boarding school activities.

- Skiing, Snowboarding and Snow Tubing for those attending our Minnesota location (Lessons and Seasonal Passes Available for Buck Hill)
- Boating, water skiing, tubing and biking.
Some activities are only available with an additional charge.
Pillsbury College Prep is located in the picturesque town of Owatonna, Minnesota which is less than an hour south of the Twin Cities. Boarders get to enjoy the picturesque natural beauty of the Minnesota countryside but are close enough to enjoy sites of the largest metropolitan area in Minnesota.
Off Site Local Boarding School Activities
Boarders can enjoy regular off site weekend activities. Some of the local trips may include:

- Mall of America – enjoy chaperoned shopping time at the largest mall in America
- Nickelodeon Universe – enjoy the thrills of this seven-acre indoor amusement park located in the center of the Mall of America.
- Minnesota Aquarium – experience the SEA LIFE Minnesota Aquarium which is home to thousands of aquatic creatures and enjoy a movie afterwards.
- Tour of the Minnesota State University – a great trip for any boarder considering attending MSU.
- Minnesota Twins Baseball Games - watch a home game of the Minnesota Twins playing in the Central Division of the Major League Baseball's American League.
- Valley Fair Amusement Park – enjoy the Soak City Water Park and the Dino Land Amusement Park. This 125-acre park boasts 75 rides including eight roller coasters.
- Mississippi River Boat Cruise – cruise down the river enjoying breathtaking panoramic views of the majestic Mississippi River and Minneapolis.
- River Springs Outdoor Water Park (weather permitting) – stay cool while experiencing a tube slide, body slide, lazy river, activity pool, zero depth entry pool, climbing wall, lily pad walk, and sand volleyball.
- Great Serengeti lndoor Water Park – enjoy this indoor waterpark that has two water slides, a lazy river, water basketball, hot tub, zero-depth pool, and a play area for small children.
- Steele County Fair – enjoy this true American experience with many attractions, food, livestock, vendors, and rides to enjoy. Boarders also perform daily during the fair on their own stage.
- Rad Zoo Boarders – see more than 150 different kinds of reptiles and amphibians on exhibit.
- The Science Museum of Minnesota – experience a 370,000 square foot science museum with galleries covering the topics of paleontology, physical science and technology, the human body, peoples and cultures of the Mississippi River, and the museum's collections.
- lmax Convertible Dome Omnitheater – be a part of science education to more than a million people per year.
- Wabasha Street Caves – experience a chance to hear and see the history of these sandstone caves. Explore the original mined caves and see the finished caves.
- Cave tours, museums, zoos, theatre, concerts, and apple orchard tours.
There is plenty to do on and off campus at our boarding school near the Twin Cities of St. Paul and Minneapolis. Every adventure and program is open to all boarders and allows them to thrive while having new experiences and trying new things.
